GUITARIST Rob Jessop and singer Jilly Rose are among the acts being welcomed to Okehampton Acoustic Club this month.

Rob is a guitarist whose arrangements of traditional Irish, Scottish and Cornish folk tunes compliment his own quirky original pieces, inspired by places and people. The theme of his set will be 'The road to Easterbrook and other journeys'.

Singer Jilly Rose sings an eclectic mix of traditional and modern songs, and will be accompanied by Ken Holmes on guitar.

The band Cross Borders will also play at the club's next meeting. With influences ranging from traditional folk through to country and contemporary music, the group has played a number of folk and acoustic music clubs throughout the South West, as well as at their home venue at Uffculme Music and Performance Club.

The club's hosts and founders Troubadour's Garden will also perform a set.

The meeting takes place in the Ockment Centre on Saturday, April 13. Doors open at 7.30pm.

Entry costs £2.50 per person, and people are asked to bring their own refreshments.
