I WOULD like to congratulate the Robey Trust on an excellent Steam Fair day.
The sun shining and the crowds attracted to Tavistock on Sunday week speak well of the hard work and efforts put into providing this once a year treat for us all.
Each year they do us proud and have created an annual event which is worthy of anybody's calendar.
As a sideline, I would point out to Tavistock retail traders that this seems to me to have been a golden opportunity lost for those who did not have the initiative to open their doors and publicise their trade.
Annually, visitors come from all over the country to spend a day in Tavistock apart from those that drop by. Not only would they use any facilities available they would also add to the contingency of visitors next year by spreading the word about Tavistock being a thriving and busy market town worthy of a visit.
Well done, and thank you for all your hard work to the Robey Trust.
