IN ideal weather conditions Tavistock Seconds hockey team travelled to Bude trying to thwart the home side's chance of promotion — sadly this was not to be.
Tavistock, with an abundance of players and using rolling subs, went 2-0 down within 20 minutes. The first goal was from a strike at goal from a classic build up, and the second from a short corner.
Goalkeeper Osbourne kept Tavistock in the game and stopped Bude running away with a comprehensive victory.
In the second half, Tavistock played well and were rewarded with a goal after a succession of short corners.
It came from a shot taken by Young, and Townsend was able to put the ball in the back of the net.
