DJM U 13 Hermes Cup semi final Tavistock Town 4 Plymouth Trophyman 0 Tavistock Town will round off their season with two cup final appearances after completing a comfortable win over Plymouth Trophyman at Widewell to move into the final. On a miserable day with wind, rain and heavy ground, both teams did their best to produce some football but Tavistock had the advantage of the elements in the first half and took an early lead when Northmore scored direct from a corner. Trophyman also had their chances and an effort which came back down from the crossbar appeared to be close, but the referee waved play on. Tavistock extended their lead when Blatchford finished off a good team move with a tap in. Town were beginning to dominate the game and made the game safe when Blatchford added his second when put through on the goalkeeper. Despite the 3-0 half time lead Tavistock then had to play into the wind and rain. However, the team defended well from the front and with Northmore, Alford, Quick and Eaton working hard in midfield, the back four and keeper were rarely troubled. Tavistock did create more chances with Hick going close a number of times, but it was left to Eaton to wrap up the scoring with one of the last kicks of the game. l Tavistock will play Looe juniors in the final. Tavistock's Devon FA 'Tesco' cup final against Plymouth Kolts will take place at Elburton Villa's ground on Sunday, April 13 at 11am.
