IT?S a sell out ? the one and only public UK showing of the controversial film about the Catholic Church Conspiracy of Silence will be seen by 180 people in Callington on September 14. The UK film premiere, which was agreed by the film?s sales agents Beyond Films as a special event for Callington because it was featured in the movie, has come about through a campaign by the East Cornwall Times. Only ever released in America and Australia, locals who starred in the movie had desperately been trying to get hold of copies of the DVD, but now they will have the chance to see it ?on the big screen? in the town hall. The night, which is also a charity fundraiser for Macmillan nurses and Children?s Hospice South West, will have an Irish flavour with live music and a barrel of Guinness ? Ginsters have agreed to sponsor the refreshments. There will be a raffle in the interval.
