AFTER a hard fought 2-1 win over local rivals Calstock, Tavistock continued with a comfortable win over visitors Tideford. The home team fielded a strong team and played attractive football. It was not long before they took the lead when a good run by Conday resulted in Hijayianni firing in from six yards. Chances went begging with Moule and Babb going close.

On 20 minutes Pethick picked out Conday who drilled home from eight yards to make it 2-0.

After continued pressure, Pethick's pin point pass put in Hajiyianni who struck the post and Conday was there to score from the rebound. The same two combined once more with Conday rounding the keeper for Tavistock's fourth and his hatrick.

The second half continued with Tavistock dominating in midfield through Wall and Blamey.

Good running by Day resulted in Conday smashing home from 18 yards and for the fifth . Conday scored his fifth and Tavistock's sixth when he raced clear and cooly lobbed the advancing keeper. A surprising short spell of pressure from the visitors was thwarted by the defensive giant Babb. The seventh goal came from a long ball by Babb to Conday who squared the ball for Hijiyianni to score in an empty net.

15 mins from time a great solo run by Pethick was finished with a fine strike from 20 yards. The best was to come when substitute Smith stuck the ball from 30 yards that nestled in the top corner of the visitors goal. Tideford grabbed a late consolation goal.
