Tavistock RFC U9s 30

Devonport Services U9s 5

TAVISTOCK put in an aggressive and ball hungry performance against Devonport Services showing their true capabilities.

The Tavistock team  competed ferociously for every breakdown creating a physical contest between two hard tackling sides. This lead to numerous turnovers and with the strong and straight running from front rowers Oscar Campbell, Harry Richardson Cameron Geogel and Nicholas Buckeridge-Hobbs the majority of play was in the Services half. This gave Tavistock the chance to apply some strong mauling and ball ripping led to tries for Henry Varndell-Dawes, Louis Peake and scrum half Harry Edwards (2). Oscar Campbell was rewarded for his strength by dragging the Services defence over the line twice to score.

Services never gave up and were only thwarted by a disciplined Tavistock defence, and did earn their hard fought try.

IN the second game Tavistock's Jack Lancashire did a great job at the back of the rucks distributing balls to release Jack Baker and Bryn Bourton to pressurise the Services defence.

Tackles came thick and fast from Tom Gardener, and Harry Richardson  in the middle and Dan Pett and Henry Varndell-Dawes out wide while strong running and intelligent support gave Tavistock tries from Henry Varndell-Dawes(2), Louis Peake, Noah Berridge and man of the match Harry Edwards scored five.
