Devon Junior Minor U18s
Tavistock AFC U18s 2
Morley 1
THE game was a little sporadic with the home side having the majority of the game.
Morley offered somes times of ascendency - however, Tavistock worked well to attain a deserved and much needed win.
The game was mainly fought in the Morley half and despite the close attention of the Morley defenders man of the match Andre Rodukov, was an integral part in Tavistock's win.
Goals from Josh Robins and Ben Pridham kept Tavistock in front and despite a penalty from Morley the home team were rarely under pressure until the inevitable push in the last 15 minutes.
Tavistock AFC U18 5
SB Frankfort 1
AFTER two wins against SB, Tavistock could have been forgiven for approaching the game in confidence but this was soon forgotten after a well worked but not given 'off-side' opportunity for the away side.
Tavistock then began to focus with Robins helping to set up the first with a cross from the left for Pridham to slide in at the far post to make it 1-0.
After some excellent work from right winger Andre Rodukov the ball was passed on to Josh Robins to slot the ball into the net past the onrushing keeper. The next came from yet another cross from Robins and yet another header from Pridham.
SB reduced the deficit to 3-1 at the start of the second half but this did not stop the Tavistock going on the attack. A well taken free kick, won by Pridham, and slotted adeptly by Robins allowed the home team to play with a little more freedom.
This freedom allowed the attacking players to express themselves more and more, eventually Robins was able to have yet another shot which the keeper fumbled, allowing Pridham to pounce for his hat-trick and put the game beyond SB.
Millbrook U18s 1
Tavistock AFC U18s 2
Tavistock needed to work hard and play some good football against an in form team. The first half started with Tavistock playing with the wind and their wingers tormenting the opposition on regular occasions - one of these leading to Andre Rodukov to cut in from the right and pass the ball past the keeper into the far corner. This, however, did not deter the home team and they responded with a well worked equaliser. Tavistock attacked at every opportunity with only wayward finishing and excellent defence from Millbrook keeping the score level.
After Blatchford hit the post and Robins headed against the bar, Tavistock continued their onslaught and went ahead from a Robins left footed screamer to make the final score 1-2 despite Millbrook sieging Tavistock's goal for the final five minutes.
