TAVISTOCK U13s had their first match of the New Year against a formidable Newton Abbot side.
Tavistock were unlucky to have a couple of key players injured, and Newton Abbot kindly helped out with the loan of their extra subs.
The first score went to Newton Abbot but Tavistock replied with a try by Charlie, which was converted by Matt.
The lead switched from side to side throughout the match with Newton Abbot nudging ahead in the second half after a long period of desperate defending by Tavistock.
Excellent kicking by Matt for Tavistock at the limit of his range converted both of Charles' second half tries, but a Newton Abbot try in the last minute gave them a narrow win.
