TWO Okehampton teams have done the town proud with success in the regional table tennis team championships.
Okehampton College U13 boys table tennis team and Okehampton Primary School's U11 girls team entered the regional table tennis team championships, held at Eggbuckland College, Plymouth.
The primary schools girls team which consisted of Larissa Goodger, Hannah Keats, Morgan Goodchild and Casey Princewill played some hard fought matches and earned themselves a place in the national zone finals which is being held at Cheltenham in Gloucestershire on February 28.
The college boys team which consisited of George Haskell, Thomas Pearce, Tom Pengelly and Daniel Howell, enjoyed a long day competing against the top seven teams in the South West. The boys won a place in the final by winning every match they played 8-0. They then went on to win the competion by winning the final - this has earned them a well deserved place in the national zone final in Cheltenham.
Both teams are representing the South West region in this event against other top regional sides.
