A BAND of Tavistock swimmers travelled across Devon for the annual Torquay Leander Christmas Sprint meet. Strong performances by the team from Tavistock Swimming Club throughout the age ranges were rewarded by an impressive haul of eleven medals and 14 personal best (PB) times. Kieran Rookes and Kris Chapman, swimming in the 10 year old boys' age group, shared a total of ten medals across all the strokes and the individual medley between them. Will Carter (12 years) earned a fourth place in backstroke and a PB in the intermediate, and an impressive swim by Katie Stephens (10 years) secured a fifth place overall and a PB in the butterfly. Further personal best times were achieved by Kameron Brimble (12 years backstroke) and Harry Thompson (10 years breaststroke/freestyle), Hannah Greep (10 years) and Francesca White (11 years) — who both gained PBs in backstroke and freestyle events.
