TAVISTOCK Museum is opening its doors again to the public this Saturday for its 2007 season. The museum is open from Tuesday to Saturday between 11am and 3pm from April until October. The Fenner Gallery within the museum houses permanent displays on the area's history, and this year will include new panels on the popular Bedford cottages within the town. Until mid-September the Old Library hosts an exhibition on '100 years of Scouting and Guiding in West Devon'. Many local troops have been involved in putting together this celebration. The museum is happy to open out of hours for pre-arranged visits as well as guided town walks to suit groups visiting the area. There is no admission charge but donations are asked to help cover the cost of insurance. To date the museum has received more than 3,000 visitors from 13 different countries each season.
