Okehampton 2

North Devon A 0

OKEHAMPTON went into their penultimate home game knowing three points would all but secure the title. It was a scrappy affair with little real chances in the opening exchanges and the only real chance in the opening 20 minutes was from a short corner, Mark Parsons hitting the post.

North Devon made the most of the home sides lack of control over the game and should have scored but stand in keeper and Oke man of the match Hayden Bond produced heroics to keep it all square. Chris Luxton then placed a cross come shot just beyond the post and a diving Parsons as tha home side tried to break the deadlock.

Okehampton came out a different side in the second half, Luke Liversidge and John Jarvis proving unbeatable in defence and Nick Luxton began to control the midfield along with Greg Williams and Andy Paterson. It was not long before the hosts took the lead as they piled on the pressure, from a series of short corners they converted when Nick Luxton's strike was glanced into the goal by Greg Williams.

Oke threatened again and again it was Luxton who turned provider for the second time, again a short corner but this time he slide it to Parsons who finished. They fashioned a few more chances with Brett Lawson and Williams both going wide.

This hard fought victory leaves Okehampton top with a six point lead with only two games left.
