Bodmin/Liskeard Leopards U15s 30

Tavistock U15s 35

BEARING in mind that several of the successful team from last season are now promoted to the U18s, this display by the Tavistock girls was very satisfying.

The new girls showed resilience and skill, exemplified by Lucy Jones side-stepping effortlessly past the defence to score the fourth try.

Tavistock started with great pace and smart inter-passing. Amy Neave showed the way, by breaking through the defence, and off-loading Annabel Longden to scorch to the line. Within seven minutes Tavistock were 10 points ahead.

Hard work in the forwards and good scrimmaging gave Tavistock good ball in the first half, with Kim Upcott, Bronwyn Rundle and Leeannah Pohe powering the pack. Emily Cooper battled was rewarded with a try.

Liskeard had no answer to the speed and strength of the Tavistock three-quarters. With varied and fast distribution from scrum half Flo Rodgers, Anabel Longden and Lauren Dawe were given great opportunities to run at the opposition.

Six tries were scored by Annabel Longden (3), Flo Rodgers (2) and Amy Neave. Excellent tackling from Lilly Hillsen on the wing stopped Liskeard breaking through on several occasions

Tavistock slackened off in the second half and nearly lost allowing Liskeard to score six tries, but they were just able to hang on to their win.
