CALLINGTON'S youngsters fought a brave battle to stop title-chasing Tavy running riot and put a huge dent in their hopes for the league. With Scott Dent scoring after 48 seconds and adding another inside four minutes Tavy were set for a landslide victory.
But they took their foot off the gas and paid the ultimate price.
With four games remaining and Tideford and North Hill consistently picking off their opponents this result could cost Tavy the championship.
Callington to their credit were not overhauled by the quick goals and pulled one back in the second half from the spot and equalised with Adam McPherson's second goal.
Tavy brought on three subs to try and regain their control of the match but felt the tie slipping away.
Scott Dent saw a powerful header hit the net as the referee blew for time.
