TAVISTOCK'S Town Crier out-cried competitors to take home two cup trophies in a recent crier contest.
David Turner won the first round of the Kingsbridge and Dartmouth Town Crier's Competition, which was held in Kingsbridge, with his two cries — the Home Cry and the Modern Olympics.
He then went on to the Dartmouth competition the following day, gaining second place in the Peter Randall Memorial trophy, winning himself a silver salver.
Mr Turner also achieved second place overall in the Sir Francis Drake Armada Cup, which was run over the two days, with the theme for the cry being Thomas Newcomen.
