ON-STREET parking changes could be in the pipeline in Tavistock town centre, as alterations in traffic orders are due to take place.
Members of Tavistock Town Council last week heard that county councillor Debo Sellis was due to 'sign off' several orders — but this would not be done until some further investigations had taken place.
Cllr Sellis said she had asked for some of the double yellow lines to be removed in Duke Street, for example, outside the old Woolworths store.
Cllr Sellis said: 'So many people have asked me what the purpose of them are — highways have looked at them and don't think it's unreasonable to remove them.
'It means we could have another three parking spaces there.'
Cllr Mandy Govier pointed out that some time ago, the town council had requested the county council look at marking out another loading bay in Duke Street, but that nothing had been done about it.
Cllr Sellis agreed to take the matter up with the highways department, to see if any changes could be implemented at the same time.
