TAVISTOCK was buzzing on Saturday as the annual Edge Festival took over the town.

The event was deemed a success — despite clashing with England’s match against Sweden in the World Cup quarter finals.

Jackie Kilburn, from Tavistock Edge, said: ‘We had an amazing day, probably a bit warm for some, but we supplied cover in the Guildhall car park for the audience. The town was buzzing with the St Eustachius’ church fete, arts market and the Meadows hosting Dartmoor Rescue.

‘We still managed to have good audiences for all four of our venues, even in the afternoon when England were playing. Richard Hamer, our chairman, was very pleased with the way things went and plans will start for next year; with such talent out there we hope to showcase more.’
