The Mount House netball teams started their season with stern tests away at King's Hall, and whilst all three games were lost, the girls played well and will have learned many lessons for their future fixtures. The under 13s started slowly and by the end of the first quarter were 8-2 down. They fought back well, narrowing the gap to 12-7 by half time. In the second half, the Mount House girls worked hard and played well against a bigger and stronger team, but were unable to make any further headway and ended 25-16 down. There were some fine individual performances, especially from Rosie Yeoward and Hannah Donne. The final score of 7- 14 in the U12s match does not reflect the balance of play. After a slow start the Mount House girls came back well, with Poppy Hartley and Phoebe Malcolm very much to the fore. The U11s were in a close encounter in the first half of their match, but their stamina and concentration lapsed in the second period, and they faded to a 7-13 defeat. There were some encouraging performances particularly from India Lewis, Cecily Jervoise and Alice Donne.
