STEVE Sage and Ray Retter were the only representatives of North Devon Wheelers Cycle Club in action last weekend. They were both taking part in the Percy Sedgemore Memorial 25-mile time trial organised by C S Dynamo (Exmouth) at Buckfastleigh on Sunday.
The weather dawned bright and warm but the rising easterly wind made the opening 13 miles tougher than expected, with most riders? times slower than their personal bests.
Steve was sixth fastest of the 52-strong field with a time of 57:33 and Ray?s time of 58:22 put him in third place in the vets? 50-59 age group.
This week the North Devon Wheelers will be out in force as they are organising a 25-mile time trial at Chulmleigh which will also incorporate their own club?s 25?mile championship.
