THIS was always going to be a tough game of hockey for Tavistock, playing the league leaders who have not dropped a match this season.

The first half went mostly Tavistock's way but owing to a spirited Kelly defence they were unable to capitalise on their possession and the score at the break was 0-0.

The second half started with an early goal from Sue Gawman following a strong move up the field and a skirmish in the goalmouth.

The goal had the effect of waking up Kelly who fought back, equalising within minutes.

The game was close after these goals with plenty of chances for both sides.

Kelly scored again about 20 minutes into the second half. Tavistock replied with determined effort and were rewarded with a second goal from Sue Gawman who dodged the defence single handed to score.

A rewarding result for Tavistock following a match played in good spirit.
