Topsham Seconds 14
Okehampton Thirds 20
OKEHAMPTON started well with the wind in their faces. An early unconverted try came from Adam Holiday, in his first game back from injury. Within a few minutes winger Richard Shears gathered a loose ball to drive over the line with two opposition players trying to stop him.
Ten points up in nearly as many minutes perhaps saw Okehampton become over confident and for the remainder of the first half they never looked likely to score again.
Confidence grew in Topsham and just after half-time they scored a converted try.
A substitution in the Okehampton backline led to 20 minutes' good play from the Acorns and some consolidated forward play resulted in Rob Ewen going over for the try.
The home side continued to disrupt and good ball along their line saw the second converted try scored by Topsham's centre.
The final score of the match went to Okehampton when Hayden Leigh kicked ahead and chased down for the score, only minutes earlier having made the tackle of the day back on the Okehampton line.
