BBC TV's 'The One Show' and 'Gardeners' Question Time' regular, Christine Walkden, will be attending Tavistock Garden Festival next month.
Now in its ninth year, the festival sets out to celebrate the best of gardens, countryside and food and will be taking place on the Spring Bank Holiday weekend of May 26 and 27, in and around Tavistock's historic pannier market and town hall.
Renowned horticulturist and broadcaster Christine Walkden will be the special guest demonstrator on May 27 and will be sharing tips from her latest book 'No Nonsense Container Gardening'
Christine has been a horticulturist since the age of ten when she first obtained an allotment and started growing vegetables and flowers which she sold to her school teachers and local residents.
She is now a freelance plantswoman and horticulturist, lecturing nationally and internationally.
A past presenter on BBC's Gardeners World and presenter of two of her own series on BBC 2 'Christine's Garden', she also broadcasts on local and national radio and is a past winner of the Garden Writers' Guild Radio Broadcasting Award.
Christine is currently the resident gardening expert for BBC 1's The One Show and a BBC Radio 4 Gardeners' Question Time panellist.
Entry is free to Tavistock Garden Festival 'Dig for Victory', and is part of the 'Tavistock 1943' weekend.
Lesley Reeves from Tavistock Town Council, who is part of the organising committee, said there would be model garden displays, exhibitors from Devon, Cornwall and Somerset and a display by the NCCPG, the Devon branch of Plant Heritage.
'There will be a food and craft hall in the town hall and plenty of items to purchase,' said Lesley.
'We will have 70 traders plus in the market including our regular pannier market stallholders.
'There will also be a Westcountry Falconry demonstration, a world war two display from the re-enactment group involved with the Tavistock 1943 event on May 25 and 26 and Cornish willow workings.'
Many of the shops and cafés in the town will be open all weekend as well.
