ESCOT SOUNDS launches this July at Escot Park near Ottery St Mary, featuring outdoor concerts headlined by 2006/7?s great success story, Sussex band The Feeling and long-term live favourite The Australian Pink Floyd Show. Escot Park provides a spectacular backdrop for these open-air shows with its natural amphitheatre set amongst 200 acres of 18th century parkland. Formed in Adelaide, South Australia in 1988, The Australian Pink Floyd Show?s first major performance was at the Pink Floyd convention in 1993. The following year the band met David Gilmour and in 1996 they received the ultimate endorsement becoming the only Floyd tribute band to be asked to perform for a member of Pink Floyd, namely at David Gilmour?s 50th birthday celebrations, when they jammed on-stage with the band themselves. Their sensational show has won them fans far and wide with performances from Glastonbury to Rock Festivals all over Europe. Australian Pink Floyd appears at Escot on Saturday July 28. The Feeling write great big no-nonsense, giant-chorused pop music ? with sunshine hooks and killer choruses that everyone can hum. Likened to The Kinks on many occasions, their debut album ?Twelve Stops and Home? sold well over a million copies. Hits like ?Fill My Little World? helped them to become one of the most played bands of 2006 on UK radio. The Feeling will play Escot on Sunday July 29. Escot Sounds promises a light show and fireworks finale on Saturday, support acts on Sunday, picnic hampers, licensed bar, local food stalls, free parking, easy access, children under 8 free. Gates open from 4pm. The organisers promise a truly different live music experience which aims to benefit the surrounding countryside. Food and alcohol at the festival will be sourced locally and a percentage of the profit will be donated to The Tale Valley Trust which restores traditional farming methods in the area.
