THE OKEHAMPTON branch of Specsavers opticians has just come out on top in the region for customer service, beating many larger stores. Out of 28 stores in the Westcountry, Okehampton was the branch which fared best in a recent mystery shopper survey. Specsavers in Okehampton scored 87.5 in the final round of competition, ranking highest in terms of customer relations, collection of spectacles, dispensing quality and store presentation of the firm?s stores in the region. Store director Julia Peggs said: ?Great customer service is something our store staff pride themselves in doing well. The team is thrilled to have their constant hard work recognised and we will continue to improve.? Stores were visited four times throughout the year and graded on different aspects of customer service on each occasion, without knowing when to expect the visit. Specsavers director of retail operations, Jill Clark commended the stores for its ?superb achievement?. She said: ?For a store to be the best in their region shows commitment to customer service from staff in all parts of the store, putting the customer as the number one priority.?
