Okehampton U16s 43

Old Elthamians U16s 0

OKEHAMPTON U16s welcomed the Old Elthamians who came down from Eltham in Kent on a tour.

Both sides seemed fairly evenly matched and the play went from end to end although Okehampton had a slight possession advantage.

With the Oke forwards pushing forward and continuously rucking over Oke won a penalty inside Elthamians' 22. Joe Beer took a tap penalty and passed to Josh Bush who forced over the line to score the first try - converted by Liam Wilkins.

Oke kept up the pressure and eventually Dean Folland scored for the second. Conor Kendrew crossed the line in the corner after a good run by Liam through the centre supported by the forwards.

In the second half Oke kept up their pressure with outside centre Luke Dennis chasing a kick forward by Liam and outpacing the opposing backs to score just inside the corner flag.

With a penalty inside the 22, Oke elected to run the ball and passed it to Marcus Garratt to crash through the backs handing off a few tackles to cross the line. Josh then added his second before the last score was a second try for Luke.

The game was played in good spirit.
