SO, Okehampton town councillors have decided we need three supermarkets including a relatively cheap one.
I seem to remember we had one until recently. We also had a very good coach, lorry and car park, conveniently located, which hundreds of town would die for.
The car park is lost forever, thanks to the planners and we may now get three supermarkets, but almost certainly only two will survive.
The traffic problem they refer to is because we now have too many traffic lights. But despite the clear inefficiencies, restriction continues to be followed by restriction and further destruction.
All we can look forward to is, sadly, traffic calming and over engineered solutions to self-created problems.
