HURDWICK Golf Club held their annual Hurdwick Hundred competition last weekend.This is made up of two separate medal competitions on the Saturday and Sunday and the overall winner over the two days wins the Hurdwick Hundred trophy. The division one winner on Saturday was Neil Tamblin with a net 68, in second place was Tony Pearson with 69 followed by Peter Brookbank with 71. In division two, the winner was Paul Gunn with a net 64, which was by far the best result of the weekend. John Ellis was second with 70 and Paul Mace third on 71. On the Sunday Roger Downing shot an excellent net 66 with Tony Pearson in second with 67 and Kevin Pugh third with 70. In division two club captain Michael Ridley was the winner with a competitive net 67, followed by Paul Gunn on 72 and Derek Nicholls with 74. The lady winners were on day one, Ann Martyn and day two Sally Arscott. There were no 'twos' on day one and Frank Hildrup had the only 'two' of the weekend on Sunday to win the day's twos sweep. The overall winners were decided on seven eights handicap and Tony Pearson won the men's trophy and Ann Martyn won the ladies trophy.
