St Mawes 1

Gunnislake 3

ST MAWES came close to opening the scoring on ten minutes, when from a corner a goalbound header was cleared off the line by Joe Pulley. Shortly afterwards St Mawes took the lead with a well taken finish.

Gunnislake became stronger and by the interval had established a one-goal lead thanks to two good strikes — Paul Tomkies and Andy Wakem the men on target.

A Pulley corner on 47 minutes was headed goalwards by Andy Southcott. The St Mawes keeper kept this out, but following a Wayne Thialmann assist Tomkies scored his second from close range.

For most of the second half the home side attempted to get back into the game and Gunnislake sacrificed a centre forward to play with five men in midfield, Andy Campbell making a welcome return.

No further goals were scored and Gunnislake claimed a hard earned three points.

This Saturday Probus provide the opposition for Gunnislake for a knock out cup first round tie.
