Tavistock 2 Torbay 2 TAVISTOCK men?s hockey team faced a strong and skilful side but were determined to get some points. Tavistock started off the stronger side, passing the ball round the opposition defence with ease. Manley sent a speedy cross into the D which Honey slipped in the bottom corner with the finest of touches. Tavistock went into the second half a goal up. This was soon changed by a bizzare decision from the umpire to award Torbay a goal to level the scores. Tavistock?s heads dropped and Torbay started to show real flair that the defence could not handle. Torbay got another goal to lead the game. The tables then turned again and Tavistock started to work hard for the equaliser. A skilful run into the D from Cooley led to a short corner. Honey stepped up and released a goalbound drag flick that the keeper tipped over the bar. With a minute to play the tired legs of Wilson slipped an inside ball to Boot-Handford who scored the equaliser. Man of the match: Tom Honey. This week Tavistock are away to Plymouth Uni.
