DOGS and owners from Okehampton and District Canine Association got together recently for their first meeting since many of them exhibited at Crufts.

The club members were among the rosettes with a range of different breeds at the most prestigious of dog shows.

Results were as follows: Sue Bailey, Harry, Boxer, 3rd; Joan Thomas, Dougal, Keeshund, 4th; Liza Randle, handling for Mary Wilson, Bonny, English Toy Terrier, 1st-2nd; Chris John, Max, Malamute, 4th; Charlotte John, Bo, Buhund, 4th; Carol Snell, Dolly and Tanner, English Toy Terrier. 2nd and 4th; Carol Snell, Tabitha, Chinese Crested, 4th, Penny Rose, Free, English Terrier, 4th; Pam Lashbrook, Tigger, Smooth Daschound, 1st; Zoe Knight, Charlie, Staffordshire Bull Terrier; Ann Gray, Shannon, Italian Greyhound, 3rd; Maria and Gordon Fox,. Solo and Jenny, Labradors, 3rd and 5th; Bob and Robbie Owens, Mac, Staffordshire Bull Terrier and Helen Jones, Isca, Weimaraner.

Okehampton woman Dawn Smith was also successful at Crufts, with her 15-month old whippet Peter gaining third place in the undergraduate dog class.
