AN aspiring Tavistock model is appealing for readers to help her in her quest to be crowned 'Miss Plymouth'.

Jayde Knight, 17, has already beaten off stiff competitors in the initial stages of the Miss Plymouth competition, making it to the semi finals for Miss Plymouth and consequently a quarter finalist for Miss England.

As a finalist, Jayde now needs people to vote for her as the top three girls with the highest number of votes will go through to the final judging stage of the heat.

The winner of Miss Plymouth will then go forward to the Miss England semi finals held in April.

Jayde said: 'Miss Plymouth is an online heat, and winning it would put me through to the semi final of Miss England.

'I am really excited about the whole process, it's something that is completely new to me and to win it and go through to the semi finals would be amazing.'

When not modelling, Jayde works as a business administration apprentice at Abbey Garden Machinery and has done since she left Tavistock College last year. She also plays pool for the Ordulph Arms team in the Tamar Valley League.

Voting closes at 12pm on Saturday.
