Proper Job has launched a campaign on the internet site Indiegogo to raise £20,000 for a new van to enable it to carry on providing a service throughout rural Devon.
The centre intends to buy a Nissan Cabstar for £18,220 and with modifications, including a box, Proper Job logo and tail lift— the cost will total £21,750.
Nearly £3,000 has already been raised by over 50 backers from the Indiegogo community.
'Having only reached 15 per cent of our target, we hope the local community and beyond will see the double benefit of investing in the future of an eco-conscious enterprise,' said Alison Sallis, manager of Proper Job.
'Last year Proper Job successfully diverted over 100 tonnes of waste from landfill. With a bigger van, we hope to double this figure in 2015 and continue to demonstrate the viability of a zero waste economy.'
