NOVEMBER 1 is the date the club captaincy changeover takes place at Hurdwick and Rodney Browne and Brenda Truscott have come to the end of a successful and enjoyable year in office.

With thanks given to them by members, they have passed over their charge to Tim Gale and Sally Arscott who look forward to equal success in 2003/2004.

All members extend their best wishes and are looking forward to an equally pleasant year.

The midweek stableford was won by Tim Hawkins with 39 points. Second was Rodney Browne with 36 and Phil Bryant third with 35 points. The ?twos? sweep was shared by Phil Bryant and Ray Spear.

The monthly competition resulted in a win for new captain Tim Gale in division one with 37 points. Close behind was Phil Bryant with 36, and Tony Pearson was in third place with 35 points.

George Whitfield was the leader in division two with 36 points and Rodney Browne took second from Russell Southcott, Rodney with 33 and Russell with 32 points.

The club is planning the first open competition for several years, following the extension to the clubhouse. This will be a mixed stableford greensomes and will be held on Sunday April 25 2004.

It is hoped the event will be supported by local golfers from other clubs.
