TIGER extinction is an imminent threat, but people in Tavistock will be able to hear about vital conservation work in India to protect tigers.

A presentation about vital tiger conservation work in the Satpura National Park in the heart of Madhya Pradesh, known in India as 'the Tiger State', is taking place in Parish Church Centre, Plymouth Road, Tavistock, next Wednesday at 8pm.

Entitled 'The Tiger — How your future is linked to his,' it has a strong ecological message.

The charity LifeForce helps the local people to save the Indian tigers themselves by preserving the small amount of suitable natural forest left and reducing poaching.

Nigel Whittle, the LifeForce co-founder is coming all the way from London especially to talk about their important conservation work for the Tavistock Local Group of Devon Wildlife Trust.

The talk is open to members and non-members alike, with a suggested donation of £1.50 for adults. There will also be LifeForce merchandise for sale at the talk.
