PUPILS at Lew Trenchard Primary School have been learning about the wider world of work, enjoying visits by a Coldstream Guard and an airline pilot among others.
Pupils learned about the ceremonial and military duties involved in being a Coldstream Guard. They were able to try on the famous Bearskin and red tunic, march in time together and even make a shelter in the school field.
Children learned about how the use of mental maths skills is an essential part of how a pilot carries out his duties. Good teamwork by workers on the ground and in the air was also emphasised.
