St Andrew's at Buckland Monachorum, Horrabridge, Princetown, Gulworthy, Mary Tavy and Brentor primary schools and Kelly Prep pupils were all given a brief demonstration of the animation programme, as well as some tips on how to best create their films and make their models.

They were then tasked with producing a short animated film of their design and creation.

Jonny Kurzman, script writer for MI High and Wolfblood among others, was the special guest for the afternoon and he gave the children some invaluable ideas and thoughts on using their imagination, as well as feedback on their final films.

The afternoon finished with all of the completed animation films being shown to the rest of the teams, as well as gathered parents.

Matthew Foale, headmaster at Kelly Prep, said: 'The children all displayed some wonderful imagination and creativity, as well as very impressive ICT skills.

'Certificates were presented to all of the children and Mary Tavy and Brentor took home the "chrome keyboard" award for their excellent film all about fish.

'Everyone is now looking forward to the next animation event coming soon.'
