KELLY Prep School in Tavistock staged its first annual school DT challenge day recently.

The challenge was to design and buld an electric powered model car from the materials provided.

The winning team was the one to race fastest across the school hall in a head to head knock out.

Five primary schools from around the area took up the challenge and enjoyed a great day constructing their model racing machines.

The ultimate winner was St Andrew's Primary School from Buckland Monachorum, whose team was awarded the Kelly DT Challenge Trophy.
