DINOSAURS, Adam and Eve and the After Life are just some of the wide variety of floral displays which are due to form part of a West Devon village flower festival this weekend.

Peter Tavy Festival of Flowers is held once every four years and this year, the theme is ?Through all the changing scenes of life?.

Peter Tinson, festival chairman, said: ?The creativity of the team behind the displays is very impressive. Over 40 people have come together to design and develop the floral arrangements in the church, chapel and village hall.?

During the festival, which starts tomorrow (Friday) and continues until Sunday, there will be refreshments served in the village hall, including morning coffee, ploughman?s lunches, sandwiches and cream teas.

?There will also be an exhibition in the Methodist Chapel recalling activities in Peter Tavy through the years, including a recreation of a bygone village shop and post office and the school room,? said Mr Tinson.

And on each day of the festival, visitors will be able to join a one-and-a-half hour guided walk around the village and surrounding area. The walks leave the village hall at 11am.

The festival is open between 10.30am and 6.30pm on Friday and Saturday and 10.30am until 5.30pm on Sunday.

There will be a special songs of praise service at 6pm in St Peter?s Church to conclude the festival, which is raising funds for the village hall, church and chapel.
