However, the fact that we have a thriving and

'bursting at the seams' arts and entertainment centre

in Tavistock, which is unable to expand its diverse

range of community and arts projects due to shortage

of space, is something we should celebrate.

Many market towns would envy our 'problems'.

West Devon Borough Council should at least give the

Wharf management the opportunity to present their

business plan to cover the costs of the rental of the

desperately needed space at 15 Canal Road.

The expansion of the community, arts and training

programmes at the Wharf would generate the rental

for 15 Canal Road and many new jobs, tourism and

business for Tavistock.

This should be given much more serious

consideration for the future prosperity of our unique

town.
