THREE people were treated for carbon monoxide poisoning following an incident at a house in Grenofen on Saturday afternoon.
Two fire crews from Tavistock and a specialist officer were called to the house at 3.30pm. Three people were treated at the scene then taken to hospital by ambulance.
The premises were ventilated and air samples inside the house taken for analysis. A gas engineer also attended.
A spokesman for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said gas appliances should be regularly serviced for safety by a Corgi-registered installer.
'Always make sure there is enough fresh air in the room containing your gas appliance,' he said. 'If you have a chimney or flue, ensure it is not blocked up and that vents are not covered.'
He added that the use of audible carbon monoxide alarms were strongly recommended as a back-up precaution but they should not be regarded as a substitute for proper installation and maintenance of gas appliances.
