East Cornwall premier Biscovey 1

Bere Alston United 12

BERE ALSTON went goal crazy against a poor Biscovey team and were it not for some smart saves from the young Biscovey goalie, United could have doubled their tally. The writing was on the wall for the home side when straight from the kick-off they lost possession and Bere's Nick Aplin sent Marcus Pethick clear down the right flank and his driven cross was coolly finished by Jason Cordice at the far post.

By the tenth minute it was 4-0 with Bere's second and third goals coming from debutant Paul Simpson and Darren Phillips adding a fourth courtesy of a wicked deflection. Dan Follett was next to score followed by a second from Cordice. Fellow striker Chris Bray, who up until then had now seen all his efforts saved or blocked, scored on the stroke of half time for Bere's seventh.

Such was Bere's dominance that they started the second half rather lacklustre and allowed Biscovey to get a goal back when Sian nipped in at the far post to head home. Bere immediately scored an eighth when substitute Josh Midson-Holmes crossed for Paul Simpson to complete his hat-trick. Dan Follett added a ninth when Simpson sent Marcus Pethick racing clear and his cross was met at the far post by Follett with a thumping header to score his third and Bere's tenth.

In the closing minutes Chris Bray scored his second and Jason Cordice made it 12 for Bere and became the third player to score a hat-trick when he rammed home Chris Bray's goal bound effort to complete the scoring.
