A BERE Alston footpath is due to be closed for a short time next month, to allow construction work to take place in connection with a development at Bedford Garages. The footpath at Bedford Park will be closed on Friday January 24 for approximately three days. And a section of road in The Crescent, Crapstone, will be closed to through traffic for approximately seven days on Monday January 31. The road opposite Tavy Cottage will be shut to allow allow ducting in the footpath and cycleway to be laid. Access to properties will be maintained as far as possible during the closure ? any problems should be reported to the local service office at Okehampton on 01837 52773. l Thrushelton Lane at Lewdown will be closed to through traffic for around two weeks from Tuesday January 4. A trench is being built on behalf of Western Power Distribution for a new high voltage cable which will supply a new housing development.
