VOLUNTEERS from the Horrabridge community recently joined forces to help make a difference to the area.
Fillace Park Neighbourhood Watch team are this week celebrating, after their hard work paid off when two issues of concern for their street were dealt with thanks to a partnership between the team and the local police.
The main problem areas were rubbish in the street and noise nuisance when youngsters played ball games against people's garden or garage walls.
West Devon Borough Council worked with the team and installed two new bins to tackle the issue of rubbish, which has delighted the local residents.
The second problem was resolved by providing the youngsters with soft footballs provided by Kaleidoscope, the toy shop in Tavistock.
Ann Jessop, the Neighbourhood Watch co-ordinator, and Rachel Warren, the deputy co-ordinator, set up the team and are delighted with the outcome of everyone's hard work and persistence.
The idea of sponge balls replacing traditional footballs is also going to be tested in Princetown with PCSO Mark Canvin.
