Tavistock Thistles U14s . . . . . . . . . . . . . .. . . . . .1

Trophyman U14s . . . .3

THISTLES started the match in a positive manner, taking the game to a team nursing ambitions to be crowned champions. Nick Jarman was causing problems for Trophyman with his probing runs from mid-field and it was no surprise when Thistles took the lead with a poacher?s goal from the willing Darren Phillips who chased a lost cause and got his reward.

Thistles continued to press and make chances but Trophyman responded by equalising somewhat against the run of play to show how dangerous they could be.

The break came with the teams all square at 1-1.

But Thistles had done more than enough to have been in front thanks to fine work from Nick Jarman and Andrew Wallace in mid-field and Joseph Busuttil and Darren Phillips in attack.

The second half started with Trophyman showing more determination in attack but the defence of Rob Shuttler, Jon Walker, Tony Coles and Paul Gibbings was working hard to keep them out.

Following a good move, Trophyman took the lead but Thistles responded by maintaining a series of moves.

Tropyman clinched the points with a late goal but Thistles produced a performance which again made a mockery of their lowly league position.
