BOTH teams played flowing football and within the first 40 minutes many chances were made from both sides.
Hard work from midfield players Wayne Downham, Julian Brace-Davies, Steve Gibbons and Dale Mullen, led to chances for the Thistles but on the stroke of half-time Barnstaple broke through to gain a 1-0 lead.
The second half kicked off with committed challenges from Barnstaple and Tavistock but Barnstaple struck again to make it 2-0.
Within minutes the away team conceded a penalty after a foul for which Ben Stephens converted well.
Sub Seb Krotke came on after four weeks away but was well into the game. Thistles' shots on goal were unable to penetrate Barnstaple's defence and keeper.
Good forward play came from Lee Wickett, Luke Huxham and the defensive back line of Jason Webber. Ali Jowett, Phil Peers and Dan Credicott were strong, but the score remained at 2-1.
Ashley Woodrow showed quick reaction and some great goal keeping throughout the game, deserving his man of the match nomination.
