COMPUTER equipment and car radios were among items stolen from the Saab specialist on the Crelake industrial estate, Tavistock recently.

Thieves forced security bars and broke in through a side toilet window before ransacking the office. In all, the cost of stolen property and damage to the premises comes to around £8,500.

The break-in occurred during the night of December 20/21. Computers, printers, scanners and modems were taken from the office, and CD player/radios were ripped out of three cars.

Owner, Chris Hamley said: ?They certainly did a thorough job. The place looked as if a bomb had hit it. They must have been looking for cash because filing cabinets and drawers had been emptied out, and pictures had been torn off the walls, presumably searching for a safe.

?They even took about £7 of coffee money from a jar.?
