MEMBERS of Bere Alston Trekkers (BATs) took part in two hot races at the weekend. The first was the tough Meet your Max event in Truro ? a challenging 10Km multi-terrain event. The course includes some three stream crossings and varying amounts of mud, resulting in atheletes having to be pulled out of some areas ?definitely not a course for the faint hearted! Results: Patsy Boon: 01:06:51 and Helen Eggleton: 01:06:52. The second run was the Killerton Kanter ? a circular off-road, multi-terrain course with steep inclines and runner-made footpaths which require careful negotiation in order not to trip or fall. There were four Course Personal Bests (CPB) for the team and this was the second race of the weekend for Patsy and Helen. Making his debut for the club and first male Bat home was Simon Wakeham. First lady Bat home was Dotty Allan, taking off over 20 minutes from last year?s time. Well done to Patsy and Helen for competing twice for the club over the weekend.
