A NEW and 'dangerous' sport will make an appearance at Peter Tavy Village Fayre on August Bank Holiday Monday.
The event will see visiting teddy bears taking a bungee jump from the 60ft tower of St. Peter's Church in the village!
Villager Steve Carreck said: 'A daredevil local teddy bear has been trying out our bungee jumping arrangements, and we can now offer other local bears a chance to experience this thrill for themselves!'
Steve said there was an invitation for teddy bears to bring along their owners and families to the fayre from 2.30pm on Monday August 27.
'We'll be performing a quick "medical check" to make sure each teddy is safe to take part, and then the bears can be registered to jump.
'There'll be a limit on the number of bears we can allow to jump so owners will have to make sure they get along to the fayre early enough to register.'
Each teddy bear who successfully completes a bungee jump will be awarded a special certificate.
Bear Bungee Jumping is just one of the activities lined up at the fayre held at the village hall and neighbouring Methodist Chapel.
A range of stalls will offer home-made cakes, jams and preserves, plants and garden produce, and much more.
There are also traditional games ranging from the coconut-shy and skittles to guessing the weight of a duck, and demonstrations of many rural crafts
A barbecue is planned in the village hall in the early evening, followed by a quiz night.
