YELVERTON golfers Keith Parriss and Eddie Primmer could be in line for a trip to St Andrews, the home of golf, after coming out on top of the recent Famous Grouse shotgun foursomes competition with a title-winning score of 66 1/2 at their home club.

Their success in the initial stages of the competition, which this year takes in almost 900 golf clubs from every corner of Britain plus several from Europe and the Far East, keeps Keith and Eddie well in the race for a place in the international final on Scotland's east coast in October.

Then, a total of 46 players will spend two days in St Andrew's and compete over the same historic links of the old course where the open championship has been played on 26 occasions.
